My experience of the Welsh Group and OCN,facilitated by Gemma (OT)
Spring/Summer 2011 Issue 28
The welsh group has been running for over a year and has proved to be an enjoyable and effective way of learning Welsh. We have studied the benefits of learning Welsh and using the language. The teaching medium has been through group games.
We have recently completed an Open College Network in Welsh Language. We learnt how to greet and leave appropriately, how to comment on the weather, introduce oneself and others. We also learnt about foods that we like and dislike, hobbies and interests.
We visited a café in Porthcawl “The Welsh Deli” to order drinks using our skills. We have learnt a lot of vocabulary and grammar. The group has been fulfilling and productive with each of us learning from each other as well as the teacher. Further group leaves to places of interest such as St Fagons have been planned for the future.
In conclusion then, the Welsh Group has been educational and fun with all the members of the group looking forward to our weekly sessions.
If you are interested in joining the group please speak to your occupational Therapist or Gemma
